Welcome to Alfie's Arc

Community Assistance

At Alfie's Arc, we are dedicated to supporting our community in Waterlooville, Hampshire, and beyond. Our family-run Community Interest Company was founded with a mission to provide vital services such as food parcels, mental health support, and various community-based initiatives. We work with and alongside Social Prescribers and other food charities and organisations to help provide not just food but extra help, support and advice. We can try and help you to help yourself.

Our food parcels are provided without the need for a referral, helping combat the food waste epidemic while ensuring that those in need receive essential nutrition. Residents of assisted living accommodations, hostels, homeless shelters, and rough sleepers in the local area benefit from this service on an almost daily basis as we deliver to them up until midnight most nights with around 80% of the food we collect.

Alfie's Arc offers tailored mental health support, including signposting, professional advice, referrals, and a listening ear through our One Step project. We provide one-on-one counselling, support groups, and workshops to help individuals facing mental health challenges. We try and encourage socialisation and inclusion so we can reduce isolation.

Our team, led by Carl and Lianne Hutchins (Directors), and Maisy Hutchins (Youth Co-ordinator), are actively involved in various community events and initiatives. We believe in the power of community engagement and offer opportunities for volunteering, donating, and participating in our projects.

Community Assistance

In the first 12 weeks of running were able to provide around 500 food parcels to some of the properties belonging to Two saints, Salvation Army and Society of saint James. These parcels include KFC, fruits, vegetables, baked goods including cakes and use by products such as sandwiches and pasta pots. Every month we have been able to do a mass delivery to all 9 sites that we cater to on one day which gives us the opportunity to meet more of the residents and day staff as we usually deliver between 9pm and 11pm. The fact that the donations we receive is able to fund what we do is a magical feeling and we always wish that we could do more. If you feel that you know of a worthy cause who could benefit from our services or would like to donate then please do not hesitate to contact us
